Nana’a Story:

Nana Kiska, a white shepherd, came into the lives of Aidan and Katherine Finn with an accidental meeting at a Santa Claus parade. She was just a puppy and was with her owner watching the parade. Mr. Finn asked if could he pick her up and the owner agreed. It was love at first sight. After negotiating with Nana’s real owner, a 9 year old girl, she agreed to sell Nana.

The Finn’s had not owned a dog for about 20 years so this was a big decision to make. The beginning of a fabulous relationship started the following Saturday morning when Nana came to stay for good.

Nana Kiska immediately became part of the Finn family and their business, Orange aPEEL Pet Products. Over the years she was at work everyday meeting and greeting customers, appearing in walk-a-thons and store openings in support of Orange aPEEL pet shampoo and other products. She was featured in advertising and posters. She now is part of the corporate logo and image. At home she was a loving pet who adored her stuffed lamb which she often played with and which remained unscathed throughout her life due to her gentle nature.

Nana lived for over 9 years and was constantly at the side of the Finn family. They are forever grateful for having that closeness.

When Nana succumbed after a long battle with cancer in 2005 it was a devastating blow. The Finn’s were moved to establish the Nana Kiska Memorial Foundation for Canine and Feline Cancer Research. This foundation, in Nana’s memory is dedicated to helping in the fight against this deadly disease so that someday future pets and their owners will be spared the pain this disease causes.

With the support of it’s family of employees, dealers, distributors, suppliers and customers Orange a-PEEL is donating a percentage of all pet product sales to the Foundation. Friends like Lynden Animal Clinic and individual donors have also contributed to the Foundation to help fight this deadly disease.

Aidan and Katherine Finn and the staff of Orange aPEEL are very pleased that Lynden Animal Clinic has devoted their annual Open House to the Foundation.
